Celebrations
Celebrating events and festivals in our school has become an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief. These celebrations bring the students closer to each other’s tradition and cultural beliefs and develop respect and understanding for each other’s customs and traditions. To list the events in the chronological order:
June 7, 2024- JSS Public School, Mandya, celebrated Environment Day with a series of engaging and inspiring events. The program, held on Friday under the theme “Our Land, Our Future. We are at Generation Restoration,” was a resounding success. The event commenced at 9:30 am with the ushering by the anchors, Miss Kushi and Miss Nidhi Rashi This was followed by an invocation performed by the Choir Group, setting a serene tone for the day’s proceedings. The dignitaries then took part in a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing enlightenment and knowledge.
Miss Umrakhanam delivered a heartfelt welcome address, extending a warm greeting to all attendees. The highlight of the early session was a beautiful nature song performed by the girls of Grade 10, which received an enthusiastic applause from the audience. The younger students also took part in the festivities with a charming ramp walk by the LKG and UKG students, showcasing their love for nature through their attire. Miss Thrisha eloquently explained the significance of the day, reminding everyone of the urgent need for environmental conservation.
A poignant drama titled “Save the Forest,” performed by Grade 1 students, captivated the audience, underscoring the importance of protecting our forests. This was followed by a collective oath-taking ceremony involving dignitaries, teachers, and students, reaffirming their commitment to environmental protection. The girls from Grade 5 then performed an energetic dance, celebrating the spirit of the day. Mrs. Nisha Manigandan, Principal of JSS Public School, introduced the chief guest, Dr. M.P. Somashekar, HoD of the MSW Department at JSS College, Mysuru. Dr. Somashekar’s address was both informative and inspiring, highlighting the crucial role of youth in environmental restoration.
Following the address, dignitaries joined in a planting ceremony, it symbolizing the school’s commitment to nurturing the environment. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the Shanthi Mantra by the Choir Group, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and purpose.
The Environment Day celebration at JSS Public School was a testament to the school’s dedication to fostering environmental awareness and responsibility among its students, ensuring that the message of conservation resonates strongly with the next generation.
Fresher’s day celebration on 14th June 2018
Fresher’s day is an event which every student eagerly awaits from the time of their admissions. The 14th of June 2018 was marked as a memorable day in the life of every fresher and present students of 2018-19, because it was the first celebration in the history of JSS Public School, Mandya. The fresher’s day was a day that was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness.
The celebration started at 2: 00 pm with the opening prayer followed by the welcome address by Mr. Kumaraswamy the principal of JSS Public School Mandya. The chief guest and the other guest of the day were introduced and formally welcomed, all teaching and non teaching, children were also welcomed.

The guest appeal to student about “basic attitudes to a set of emotions beliefs and behaviours towards result of experience and also though about basic concept about protecting our environment by reducing and recycling waste with leading to natural resource conservation. All the new comers took a chance to introduce themself it was held with great zeal and enthusiasm.

At the end of the function, the school head boy and teachers thanked the chief guest, principal, teacher and students made their cooperation in making the function a success the function came to an end at 4: 30 pm.
